(COLUMBUS) - A Columbus child came upon a piece of metal in candy after trick-or-treating Halloween night.
The 5-year-old was eating an orange Tootsie Roll when he found a heavy metal staple. He wasn't injured, and he didn't swallow it. But police believe it was intentionally placed in the piece of candy.
Police said the boy had been trick-or-treating between the 800 and 2000 blocks of Lafayette Avenue and Washington Street.
Any other parents that come upon suspicious items from trick-or-treating should call Columbus Police Department at 812-376-2600.
