(PAOLI) - Plans are moving along for the annual free community Thanksgiving dinner served in Paoli. Sarann Weeks guides the effort, which originated with the Paoli Friends Meeting House congregation.
But, many churches are involved in the preparation. The dinner will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day at the Orange County Community Center, on North Sandy Hook Road.
The meal is intended for those who live in Paoli or attend the Paoli schools. Weeks says reservations should be made by Nov. 15 and can be arranged by calling 723-3294 or 723-0782.
"We're hoping to feed 300. We're preparing more," Weeks says. "Any food that is left will be given to the Paoli Food Pantry."
Meals can be delivered in town and that includes Camelot Court and Windsor Manor apartments. Those who are physically unable to go to the community center can call one of the aforementioned telephone numbers to arrange to have meals delivered. In addition to that, anyone who is interested in volunteering to help with the meal is asked to call and sign up.
Ladies from the PHS cafeteria and members of the Paoli Friends purchased turkeys this year.
There will also be entertainment, Pete Webb and Danny Jones will perform this year as diners enjoy a Thanksgiving feast.
