(UNDATED) - This upcoming weekend will be one hour longer as Hoosiers “fall back,” moving clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday, in the switch to end Daylight Saving Time.
For years Indiana was the exception between the Eastern and Central Standard time zones by not springing forward or falling backward, until 2006 when the state, excluding 12 counties, switched to Eastern Standard Time.
Six years later that decision is still the subject of controversy with some Hoosiers suggesting the entire state move to Central Time, while others believe Indiana should go back to not observing Daylight Saving Time.
Among those in opposition are farmers who rely on daylight, not clocks to do their work. Regardless of where you stand on the topic, the sun will rise an hour earlier Sunday morning.
