(UNDATED) - Dubois County officials tested five of seven new state of the art emergency sirens now in place.
The five new sirens were tested along with the other emergency sirens around the county.
Earlier, the Dubois Council appropriated more than $150,000 for the seven new sirens as well as $25,000 for a new computer circuit board for the siren in Celestine.
Tammy Miller is with the Dubois County Emergency management agency. She says the new sirens are located in areas of the county that did not have them up till now.
A new siren for Ireland to replace two older ones there and a refurbished siren for the Duff area will be installed later.
