(UNDATED) - 26-year-old Derek Schultz, of Silverville, was arrested Monday night after he allegedly hit a woman and her 4-year-old daughter.
According to Indiana State Police Trooper Shea Teague, officers arrived at Schultz's home in the 900 block of High Water Road at 4:45 p.m.
There a woman told police that Schultz had hit her and her daughter and he had fled the scene.
Schultz was found a short time later and arrested. He was charged with domestic battery in the presence of a child, a Class D felony, strangulation, a Class D felony, domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor and battery, a Class A misdemeanor.
Schultz was taken to the Lawrence County Jail where he remains this morning.
Three face meth charges.
