(WASHINGTON) - MacAllister Machinery Company, Inc. in Washington is investing nearly 9 million dollars to equip and expand it’s current facility by 50 thousand square feet.
The current size is over 38,700 feet.
The announcement was made this morning.
The planned expansion will create up to 61 new jobs by 2016. The jobs will be in management, service and customer service. MacAllister,currently employs nearly 100 people in Daviess County,
The expansion, which is expected to be completed in fall of 2013, will house sales, parts and services for MacAllister's inventory of Caterpillar heavy and compact equipment as well as MacAllister Power Systems including Caterpillar generators.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered MacAllister up to $700,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $100,000 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans.
Daviess County will consider additional property tax abatement at the request of the Daviess County Economic Development Corporation.
Washington Mayor Joe Wellman said the city is excited and grateful to MacAllister for the investment in the community.
