(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man is dead after an apparent robbery in the 2600 block of Dekist late Saturday night.
Joshua Huber, 25, of Cloverdale, was shot when five men entered a home demanding drugs and money, police said.
Huber was transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital, where he later died.
Bloomington Police Detective Lt. Faron Lake says Huber was in the house with an unknown number of people who were attacked by assailants.
After demanding drugs and money, the men then pistol-whipped and beat the victims, Lake said.
Lake said victims described the assailants as black men.
Victims could not give more precise descriptions because the men had bandanas covering their noses and mouths and wore hooded sweatshirts, Lake said.
BPD detectives are investigating the case. Lake said police believe the house was not randomly targeted.
Bloomington police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call 812-339-4477.
