(MITCHELL) - 38-year-old Kevin Blackburn, of Mitchell, was arrested early Sunday morning after he hit another man with a baseball bat.
According to Lawrence County Police, officers were called to Blackburn's home in the 4900 block of Ind. 37 at 1:10 a.m. after his wife made a 911 call reporting Blackburn was out of control and swinging a baseball bat and fighting in front of the couple's children.
When officers arrived, Blackburn had fled from the house. Mitchell Police K-9 Officer Matt England and his dog Tank responded to search for Blackburn.
According to England, Blackburn was hiding nearby and heard officers talking about using the dog and walked out and turned himself in.
He was charged with intimidating with a deadly weapon, strangulation and domestic battery in the presents of a minor.
Blackburn was taken to IU Health for treatment of a facial injury. The other man involved suffered minor injuries and refused treatment.
