(WASHINGTON) - At 2:14 p.m. Thursday, a call to the Washington Police Department reported a hit and run accident at the intersection of Walnut and State Road 57 in Washington.
When police arrived, they found a tan Toyota, driven by Margaret Cannon of Washington, in the parking lot at Chuckle's.
Witnesses said Cannon was traveling south on State Road 57 and a maroon colored Chevy, four wheel drive pick-up, had pulled out of the Chuckle's parking lot and struck Cannon's car in the passenger side and then fled the scene, going northbound.
A few minutes later, Patrolman Brandon Humphries reported he had located the suspect vehicle several blocks away on Viola Avenue.
The driver of the pick-up, 27-year-old Adam Jay Wilkie, of Plainville, told the officers that the other car in the accident had left the scene and he was looking for it.
Wilkie was cited for leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
