(GREENE COUNTY) - The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is announcing that State Road 445 will be closing in eastern Greene County.
On or after Friday, crews will be closing S.R. 445 for construction of a connector road to I-69. The road will be closed from State Road 45 to the junction of State Road 54; however local traffic and emergency vehicles will have access to the point of closure.
The point of closures is approximately 1,000 feet east of Lawrence Hollow Road. It is scheduled to re-open to traffic in June 2013, weather permitting. S.R. 445 will not close until the portion of S.R. 45 from S.R. 54 to S.R. 58 has re-opened to traffic.
The official detour will route traffic on S.R. 45 and S.R. 54.
The southern portion of S.R. 45 currently closed (from S.R. 54 to S.R. 58) is scheduled to re-open to traffic by the end of the day on Monday, Nov. 19, weather permitting.
INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a work zone.
