(WASHINGTON) - Washington Police Officers assisted on a welfare check Wednesday and ended up arresting three Washington women on drug related charges.
Around 7 p.m. Wednesday, the Washington Police Department received a call from the Indiana State Police requesting assistance in making a welfare check at an address on Vincennes Avenue.
The State Police were checking on Shelia Burris, who had not reported to a Dubois County Court, Wednesday.
Police discovered Burris had removed her home detention bracelet. At 7:15 p.m. Washington Police were able to locate Burris and two other women at a home at 2304 Oak Grove Road.
Officers arrested 61-year-old Carla Campbell and 43-year-old Lona Murray for visiting a common nuisance.
49-year-old Shelia Ann Burris was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, illegal possession of a syringe, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, maintaining a common nuisance, obstruction of justice and escape.
All three women were transported to the Daviess County Security Center where Murray and Campbell are being held on $2,000 bond each. Burris is being held in the Security Center without bond.
