(WASHINGTON) - Separate Sunday morning accidents sent two people to the hospital.
At 5:30 a.m. Sunday, 46-year-old Wayne Young, of Loogootee, was driving a 2000 Buick east bound on State Road 58 near County Road 1200 E, when he traveled off the south side of the roadway, overcorrected, swerved into the opposite lane of traffic, spun out of control, hit an embankment and ditch then overturned.
Young was trapped in the vehicle and was freed by rescue workers.
He was taken to Daviess Community Hospital complaining of back and chest pain.
The Sheriff's Department worked a second accident at 7:47 a.m. Sunday morning.
According to the report, Frieda Hatfield, of Washington, was west bound on U.S. 50 at County Road 1100 E when her 2002 Mercury, went off the north side of the road, hit a culvert at CR 1100 E, went airborne and stopped in a field west of CR 1100 E.
Hatfield told Deputies she had fallen asleep.
She was taken to the Daviess Community Hospital by Southwest Ambulance.
