(BEDFORD) - A West Lafayette woman was injured after a deer ran into the vehicle she was riding in Saturday morning.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 63-year-old Norman Elkins was traveling south on Ind. 37 when a deer ran from the west side of the roadway and hit the passenger side of his 2010 Mercedes Benz..
The deer hit the passenger side door, the fender and the windshield shattering it.
58-year-old Janet Elkins suffered head lacerations from broken glass. An IU Health Bedford Hospital ambulance crew treated Janet at the scene. Elkins was not injured.
