(BEDFORD) - Trail permits for riding horses or mountain bikes on Hoosier National Forest trails in 2013 are now available.
Permits can be purchased at Forest offices and some local businesses in the Forest area.
Annual trail permits make great Christmas gifts for trail enthusiasts. The cost of annual permits remains at $35. A daily permit is $5.
There are approximately 184 miles of trails designated for bike use, and 211 miles of trail for horse use on the Forest.
Most of the income collected from the trail permits remains on the Hoosier and is used to maintain trails, enhance trailheads, and provide visitor services.
