(BEDFORD) - You might want to make sure the snow shovels and winter gear are at hand, because more snow and dropping temperatures are on the way this afternoon.
According to weather experts more snow will begin falling today and Tuesday and temperatures will bring in the New Year with a dip to the low teens.
The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for most of Central Indiana.
The advisory goes into effect at 1 p.m. Monday and will remain in effect through 7 a.m. Tuesday.
National Weather Service meteorologists predict this winter storm to produce 1-3 inches through most of the area.
The snow is expected to begin this afternoon and last through late evening.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause travel difficulties. Motorists should be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
