(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man’s nighttime stroll was interrupted when two men, one reportedly armed with a handgun, approached him from behind and allegedly robbed him at gunpoint.
The incident occurred at about 9 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of South Sweetbriar Circle and South Sweetbriar Court near Bloomington High School South.
Bloomington Police Sgt. Dana Cole says the two suspects, both white males, allegedly showed the man a handgun and demanded the 32-year-old victim's wallet.
The man threw his wallet on the ground and that is one of the men retrieved the wallet, took out the cash and threw the wallet back on the ground and both men ran from the scene.
The victim called police and IU Police used their K-9 unit to track the men. They were not found.
Anyone with information is asked to call Bloomington Police. Cole says the victim was on his cell phone at the time of the robbery and was not harmed in the altercation.
