(BEDFORD) - More than fifty brave souls took to the streets of Bedford Monday morning for the second annual Santa Hat Christmas Eve Run.
A total of $620 was raised through donations from the runners, with 100 percent of the money going to Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services.
According to one of the event coordinators, Jim Edwards, the fun run/walk concluded with refreshments, door prizes and great fellowship. Sowders, along with Kathy Hammel and the Let's Go training group, said thanks go to Dan Dyke for coordinating site arrangements; the First Baptist Church, for providing the location; and Bill Deckard.
Several businesses and individuals donated door prizes, including: Anytime Fitness, Bailey's Flowers & Gifts, Bob Evans Restaurant, Buffalo Wings & Rings, Denny's, Dunham Sports, Empress Court, Eugene Roberts, Jay C Plus, Johnny Junxion's, Lowe's, Papa John's Pizza, Penn Station East Coast Subs, Pizza Hut, Starbucks, Stonecutters Cafe and Roastery, and Wal-Mart.
