(BROWNSTOWN) - A group of Brownstown Central Middle School students had the opportunity to spend what is likely a lot of money to most of them Monday morning.
"I just like the idea of having the chance to buy presents so that those less fortunate can have as good a Christmas as we all do," Laysha Dalton said after she and other members of the school's Tribal Council spent $5,845 buying toys at Walmart Supercenter in Seymour.
The toys purchased Monday will be put together with baskets of food, including canned goods collected by Brownstown Elementary School pupils, and delivered Friday as part of the annual Brownstown Christmas Cheer program.
