(BEDFORD) - Bedford City Council members convened and passed a resolution supporting the continuation of the Bedford Urban Enterprise Association.
BUEA was established Feb. 1, 1993, then redesignated for a second term in 2003 and a third in 2008.
The purpose of the organization, which has been redesigned in recent years, is to enhance and promote economic development.
BUEA charter's was due to expire on Dec. 31. The renewal term spans from Jan. 1, 2013 through Dec. 31, 2017.
Harold Turner serves as president of BUEA.
Council members Mark Scherschel, Pat Robbins, Michele Murphy, Byron Buker and Adele Bowden-Purlee approved the resolution.
Julie Hewetson and Judy Carlisle were not present for Thursday's session.
