(BLOOMINGTON) - A man called Bloomington police Friday night reporting he had been robbed of his money by a prostitute as the pair went to a motel to purchase drugs on Bloomington’s north side.
Bloomington police were called to a motel on North Walnut Street at 6:30 p.m. to talk to the 52-year-old man who had been robbed.
Bloomington Police Lt. Faron Lake says the man and woman were sitting in the man's car in the parking lot of another motel on North Walnut Street, when the woman reached over, took the money from the man's wallet and then ran away. The woman was not armed and the man was not injured in the robbery.
Lake says at first the man told police he had picked up the woman, who had been walking along the side of the road. Later he admitted that he knew the woman was a prostitute and picked her up and planed to pay her for her services. But first the two went on a search to purchase drugs. Lake did not indicate what kind of drugs the two were planning to buy.
