(BEDFORD) - 22-year-old Martie Barlow, of Bedford, was arrested Saturday after a woman and two children were treated at IU Health Bedford Hospital.
According to Bedford Assistant Police Chief Joe DeWees, officers were called to the hospital by hospital staff and a member of Child Protection Service.
DeWees says Barlow is accused of hitting two male children under the age of 14 and a woman.
All three suffered bruising and pain and were treated and released from the hospital.
"After speaking with those injured, they then went to Barlow's home in the 2900 block of Washington Avenue," DeWees says. "When officers went to arrest Mr. Barlow he began struggling and officers had to forcible place him in handcuffs."
Barlow was charged with two counts of battery on a minor under the age of 14 resulting in bodily injury, battery causing bodily injury and resisting law enforcement.
