(VINCENNES) - Indiana State Police have taken over the investigation and have ruled Malcom Jamar Stalling’s death was not a homicide.
An autopsy was performed on Sunday.
Vincennes Police dispatch received a call about an unresponsive male at an off-campus apartment house at 610 North Second Street around 7 p.m.
When Emergency Responders arrived, they found Vincennes University student 22-year-old Malcom Jamar Stalling, from South Bend, unresponsive, and immediately transported him to Good Samaritan Hospital.
Stalling was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Authorities are considering this an isolated incident. The investigation is ongoing as a final report by the medical examiner is pending.
VU officials say counseling services have been made available at the VU Counseling Services Office.
Stalling was majoring in Automotive Technology at VU.
The death is being investigated by the Indiana State Police with the aid of the Vincennes City Police and the VU Police.
