(BEDFORD) - Gifts meant for Lawrence County Children were stolen from the Charlie’s Used Cars and Fire Works and Auction House on Mitchell Road.
For several days, residents and auction attendees had donated toys and other items for children for Santa Joe to deliver. Now all those items are gone.
According to those that volunteer, a person dressed up as Santa entered the building and told them they were picking up the toys to take to Santa Joe, in Williams. However the toys never got there.
Now volunteers are asking residents to help replaced the needed items that were taken.
According to Santa Joe his list has grown. This year 167 children have requested gifts from Santa.
The toys do not have to be new but gently used. There is also a need for gifts for teenage boys and girls. Those items can be dropped off at Employment Plus in Bedford.
