(BEDFORD) - S&L Creative Corner, on I Street is shutting its doors.
The noontime restaurant, catering business and baking supply shop, owned and operated by the Gilliatt family, has been a mainstay on the downtown square since 1997 when it moved from an L Street location.
Ed and Linda Gilliatt started S&L Creative Corner in 1992. Back then, they sold cake and baking supplies and did catering and specialty cakes.
Their daughter, Patty, went into the business with them.
Linda took a bad fall in August and it has prevented her from returning to S&L Creative Corner.
Linda Gilliatt fell on Aug. 15 before the store opened. She spent about 11 days at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital and spent two months at Mitchell Manor.
Linda is now rehabilitating at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and hopes to be home before the first of the year.
Her number one goal is to get healthy so she can return to work.
