(BEDFORD) - Looking for a way to make a child’s Christmas special this year?
Stalker Elementary School invites the community to call or stop by the school and take a tag off a tree with gift ideas for a student in need.
Kim Deckard Morris, school secretary, said about 150 students have tags on the tree. School staff, volunteers and parents already have taken some tags.
"Once the staff finishes taking tags, there will be about 75 to 100 students left," she said. "We have more of a need this year, so we're asking the community if they'd like to help."
Those who take a tag are asked to bring wrapped gifts to the school by Dec. 17. The school will distribute the gifts before the students leave for Christmas break on Dec. 20. Morris said those who can't come to the school for a tag can call the school for gift information.
