(MITCHELL) - 35-year-old Jarrett “JD” Rayhill and 33-year-old Cheryl Henderson were arrested Friday for dealing heroin.
According to Bedford Police Chief Joe DeWees, the arrests were done by the Lawrence County Drug Task Force.
The two, who live at 116 Dale Street are also charged with possession of drugs and maintaining a common nuisance.
According to a probable cause affidavit, a confidential informant purchased heroin from the two on two different occasions.
Tthe first purchase was on Sept. 7 when the informant met Rayhill and Henderson in a parking lot in Mitchell. The informant bought a balloon with a substance inside that tested positive for heroin.
And then a week later, the informant arranged a meeting with the couple again to buy more heroin. This time, the informant, upon the request to Henderson and Rayhill, met with the couple at their home at 3060 Dixie Highway, about 800 feet from a daycare center, to purchase the drug, according to the court document. Again, the unidentified bought a package that contained heroin.
Rayhill and Henderson were charged with dealing a Schedule I controlled substance, a Class A felony; possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, a Class D felony; and maintaining a common nuisance, a Class D felony.
