(PAYNETOWN) - Children ages 8 to 14 are invited to a free program about beavers at Monroe Lake.
Beaver Fever will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 19 at the activity center in Paynetown State Recreation Area, 4850 S. State Road 446 in Bloomington.
In this 90-minute program, children will learn about beaver biology, discover what Indiana's largest rodent does during winter and explore how these natural engineers build their dams and lodges.
During the final portion of the program, children will use what they have learned to build and test their own mini version of a beaver dam.

Attendance is limited to 10 children.
