(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after he punched and shoved his ex-girlfriend after they got into an argument about finances.
Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley says 24-year-old David Young, of Bedford, was found walking at 4th and M Street, Tuesday.
Police were called to Hamilton Court Apartments at 4:42 p.m. by a woman reporting Young had come to her home to discuss finances.
"The discussion turned violent when Young allegedly punched and pushed the woman five to six times," Parsley says. "That is when she called police."
When police arrived Young had left, but police found him at walking down the road.
"He was stopped and placed under arrest," Parsley says.
He was charged with domestic battery in the presence of a minor.
Parsley says a 3-year-old child witnessed the fight.
