(UNDATED) - Bob Lane of French Lick received the Hoosier Uplands Community Service Award for 2012.
The award was presented by David Miller, Hoosier Uplands chief executive officer. "Bob Lane is a true role model for community service and a person we are proud to have on board," Miller said.
Lane is a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Japan after World War II. He is a Kentucky Colonel, a recipient of the Hoosier Hospitality Award, member of the Beechwood Christian Church, former president of the West Baden Historical Society, volunteer tour guide for the French Lick and West Baden hotels since 1996, and created Bob's Backroads Trolley Tours at the French Lick Springs Hotel.
He has been on the Hoosier Uplands board for the past 12 years and also serves on the Shawnee Development Corporation Board and the Home Health Policy Committee.
The Hoosier Uplands Community Service Award is the highest award given by the agency and was created in 1988.
