(BROWNSTOWN) - Gina Hackman, of Brownstown, was recognized as Indiana Farm Bureau Rural Teacher of the Year during the Indiana Farm Bureau annual convention in December at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis.
The Banner reports that Hackman has taught mathematics at Jennings County High School for 30 years and has also sat on the Brownstown Central school board.
Hackman was surprised with recognition during an event at Jennings County High School in May.
She was also sent to the National Small and Rural Schools Association convention in Cincinnati in October, something she says was a great experience.
As part of the reward for the honor, Hackman received a $1,000 check. The award was presented by the Indiana Small and Rural Schools Association.
