Last updated on Monday, January 28, 2013

(BEDFORD) - Wade Jones is looking for the person that crashed into his lawn care shop Friday and then fled the scene.

"I am a pretty nice guy," Jones says. "I know the roads were slick and it was just an accident. I just want someone to come forward and say they did it. I don't want to press charges and I'm willing to work something out with them. I don't want to get anyone in trouble."

The accident happened at 7:43 a.m. left behind at the scene were numerous car parts. Lawrence County Police believe the vehicle is an SUV. They determined that from part of a bug shield and luggage rack along with other parts that fell off the vehicle.

Jones says his wife heard a loud bang and then realized someone had crashed into their building.

Jones says whoever crashed into his building just off Truck Lane on U.S. 50 East, pushed the building about 25 feet off its foundation and then drove away.

Jones is upset because the driver didn't attempt to work something out and just left the scene.

"All they had to do was come knock on the door and this could have been settled," Jones says. "Running away was not the way to handle the situation."

The dark colored vehicle was last seen headed toward Huron.

"I know someone saw something," Jones says. "And I believe another person stopped to check on who every crashed into my building because there was another set of tire tracks at the scene."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Jones at 849-6539 or the Lawrence County Police Department.
