(BLOOMFIELD) - Rural Bloomfield resident Ed Cullison will lead the Greene County Council as president for the second straight year.
The Greene County Daily World reports that Cullison, who's been a member of the council for about 10 years, was the only nominee for the president's position. Cullison, is an officer with Farmer's and Mechanics Federal Savings and Loan based in Bloomfield.
Worthington resident Hal Harp, the current president of the Greene County Redevelopment Commission and former Worthington Town Council president, was named council vice president.
The meeting, the first of the new calendar year, was also the inaugural meeting for three new council members - Patti Jones, the former Linton mayor, Joe Huntington, of Bloomfield, and Gregg Roudebush, who resigned Dec. 31, 2012 as president of the Worthington Town Council. A fourth council member, Jerry Frye began his second term at this meeting.
A number of annual appointments were also approved by the council, including: councilman Cullison as a member of the Southern Indiana Development Commission's Board of Director; councilman Harp to the Redevelopment Commission along with Jim Weimer, of rural Solsberry; councilman Frye to the Community Corrections Board and to the Personnel Administration Committee; Council member Jones to the Greene County Economic Development Corporation's Board of Directors and to the Greene County Plan Commission; councilman Huntington to the County Ambulance Service Board and to the Health Insurance Trust Board along with councilman Gene Hall; and councilman Roudebush to the County Solid Waste Management Board.
