Greene County Hospital Renovation On Target

(LINTON) - Three months into Greene County General Hospital’s $6.5 million renovation project, the expansion is right on track.

Chief Operating Officer Brenda Reetz says since the ground-breaking ceremony on Oct. 12 - with construction starting the following Monday - Garmong Construction Services is right on schedule.

The Greene County Daily World reports, the snow fall did cause them to re-prioritize but they are on schedule.

The construction work has been focused mainly on the exterior of the building, installing the new main entrance, the physical therapy department and pharmacy space.

Now construction will begin on the third floor to install a new sprinkler system. The new main entrance, physical therapy department and pharmacy will be completed by May.

The new emergency department is expected to be open by October, and the 8,000 square foot expansion of the emergency department and radiology lab is expected to be complete by April 2014.

The main entrance is now closed and patients and visitors should enter on the southeast side of the building at the emergency room there is another entry at the rear of the hospital on the ground floor.

The business office has moved from the hospital to a two-story white house just north of the hospital.
