(ORANGE COUNTY) - Home break-ins are on the rise in Orange County and Sheriff Richard Dixon is advising residents to keep an eye out for suspicious activity.
Break-ins are occurring during the day when no one is home or at vacation properties where the home may be vacant for extended periods of time.
Dixon says the doors are being kicked in and items including guns, electronics, cash and medication are being taken.
Dixon added most of the break-ins are in the southern part of the county.
Anyone with information about the break-ins or sees suspicious activity is asked to call the Sheriff's Department at 723-2417. Anonymous tips can be left at 723-3600 ext. 254.
