BEDFORD — The 24th annual Martin Luther King Jr. March for Unity is scheduled for Sunday, starting at the Lawrence County Courthouse.
People will convene in the rotunda at 2 p.m. for a brief ceremony before marching to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 18th and I streets, where organizer Clarence Brown, Carissa Ruble and Taylor Brown will speak.
After that, the group will shift to the church's Shamrock Center for an afternoon of fun, food, music and fellowship.
Clarence Brown, who has been the driving force behind the Bedford celebration since its inception, said educator/historian Norm Taylor, felled by a heart attack in late November, inspired him to shift the celebration's focus toward the community's younger generation.
