(SALEM) - A missing Salem man has returned home.
Stephanie Taylor Ferriell of the Leader-Democrat reports that Michael Aaron Baker returned to his Taylor Villa apartment.
Detective Scott Ratts says Baker had last been seen Dec. 18 and his family filed an official missing person's report Dec. 27.
Ratts says family members were concerned because Baker takes medications and he had not taken them since he went missing.
Ratts described Baker as a special needs adult who lived on his own, but said his mother was Baker's guardian. Ratts said Baker had disappeared for a few days at some point in the past, but when Christmas came and went with no word from him, the family became very concerned.
Ratts said Baker's mother told him her son typically contacts her every few days and for him to go so long, especially over the course of a major holiday, without contacting her was very uncharacteristic.
