(BROWNSTOWN) - Brownstown town council approved payment for surveying work around the Ewing Depot.
The town has been working in conjunction with BEMS to purchase the depot from CSX railroad corporation, a project that has been in the hopper for close to a year.
Once the structure is sold, it will have to move from its current location to at least 50 feet of the railroad tracks, and according to town council President John Nolting this type of project requires the presence of CSX officials, which in turn resulted in the town getting a some new pavement.
He explained that at one point CSX owned the tracks at the crossing in Ewing, and they are going to remove two of three and resurface the approach and crossing area.
