(MONTGOMERY) - A 9-year-old boy was found unresponsive in a barn in Daviess County.
Around 5 p.m. Monday, the Daviess County Sheriff's Officers received a call about a young boy found unresponsive in a barn.
According to a press release from Sheriff's Department, the initial caller stated it was unknown how long the boy was in the barn and not breathing.
Sheriff's deputies, Southwest Medical and Odon/Madison Volunteer Fire fighters arrived at the scene at 10263 E. 726 N. in Montgomery.
When crews arrived they were taken to a hayloft inside the barn on the property, where they found 9-year-old Michael Stoll, lying unresponsive on the floor.
Michael is the son of Stephen and Karen Stoll.
According to the release, CPR was being performed when emergency personnel arrived. They continued the life saving efforts and Michael was taken from the hayloft and transported to Daviess Community Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The coroner's office has not released specifics surrounding Michael's death, but has ruled the death an accident. An autopsy was performed on Tuesday in Loogootee.
Police are still investigating the death.
