(FRENCH LICK) - Author Nellotie Porter Chastain,of Mitchell, will be visiting the Melton Public Library in French Lick on Tuesday, February 19.
Chastain recently published her third novel, 'Breath of the Mountain' and has also written some non-fiction works.
'Breath of the Mountain', is set in Kentucky, where "Nellie" spent her formative
years. The book takes readers back in time to travel with Homer Ray and Gloria Jean
Blackey, two cousins who share a lifelong friendship cemented with a special promise,
unwavering trust, endearing love and perseverance.
'Breath of the Mountain' is published by Martin Sisters Publishing, LLC, a publisher from Kentucky.
Chastain, born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, was raised on Greasy Creek in Leslie County,
Kentucky.
Chastain has lived the past 40 years in Mitchell and is married to Morris "Butch" Chastain, who retired after serving as a police officer and chief of police for many years, and later served as Mitchell's mayor. They are the parents of two children and have eight grandchildren.
Tuesday's program at Melton Library will begin at 7 p.m. Nellie will talk about her writing, read some selections and sign copies of her book. The library is located at 8496 W College Street in French Lick.
