(WASHINGTON) - Taxpayers in the Barr-Reeve School District are slated to vote on whether to pay higher property taxes in a May 7, referendum.
According to a Washington Times-Herald, Barr-Reeve Superintendent Travis Madison told Tuesday's meeting of the Barr-Reeve School Board that the Indiana Department of Local Government and Finance had approved the referendum.
If the referendum is passed Barr-Reeve will create an additional property tax for real estate owners in the Barr-Reeve school district for the next seven years.
Information concerning the referendum is scheduled to be placed on the Barr-Reeve website.
