(BLOOMINGTON) - Mayor Mark Kruzan and the City of Bloomington Animal Shelter invite members of the public to show some love to the Shelter’s dogs, cats and rabbits by participating in a special Valentine’s Day adoption promotion from Feb. 9 through Feb. 17.
"Do something really special this Valentine's Day," Mayor Kruzan said. "Save a life right now and you will be rewarded with a lifetime of unconditional love."
The City is reducing the adoption fee for dogs, cats and rabbits to $40 during the week of Valentine's Day and further reducing the adoption fee to $14 for all adoptable animals on February 14. The adoption fee covers an animal's first round of vaccinations, a free visit to a local veterinary office, heartworm testing for dogs or feline leukemia testing for cats, microchip identification and spaying or neutering. The regular adoption fee is between $55 and $75, depending on the animal's age.
The public can visit adoptable animals at the Shelter on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m., Tuesdays and Fridays from noon to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. The Shelter is located at 3410 S. Walnut St.
Adoptable animals can also be viewed on the web at www.bloomington.in.gov/animalshelter. For more information about adoptable animals call 349.3492 or visit the Shelter's Facebook page, www.facebook.com/COBAnimalShelter, and twitter account, @adopttodaybtown.
