(BLOOMINGTON) - The Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Fish and Wildlife in Bloomington has moved from their East Miller Drive address to the old Girl Scout headquarters at 5596 East Ind. 46.
The land and buildings, purchased during the summer were completed using "100 percent federal funds" and is already paying dividends, says Gary Langell, private lands program manager with the DNR .
Langell says the new facilities will house research boats and vehicles under roof to protect them from the weather.
The relocation has also helped combine two separate offices: the research people once housed at the Bloomington wildlife center and the fishing people previously stationed at the Avoca State Fish Hatchery. There are now 15 to 20 people in the office.
Langell encouraged people with questions or concerns pertaining to fish and wildlife to visit the new facility east of Bloomington.
"We do provide assistance with people that have questions about rules and regulations regarding wildlife," or who have land or animal management questions, Langell says.
