(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington periodontist and a companion face charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor after 43 juveniles were ticketed for illegal drinking at a party held at the dental surgeon’s home.
Monroe County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Bob Miller tells The Herald-Times as many as 100 teenagers attended Saturday's 16th birthday party for periodontist Mark Sutor's daughter.
Sheriff's deputies went to the home after receiving reports that teens were drinking and some were vomiting.
Sutor and Theresa Ricker-Turnbull were the only adults present.
Sutor says he cleared the basement of alcohol before the party and provided non-alcoholic drinks. He says he checked on the party twice and saw no alcohol.
He and Ricker-Turnbull could face up to a year in jail and a $5,000 fine if convicted.
