(BEDFORD) - Broadview Kingpin Bowl will be the site of the Mother/Son Bowling Outing, an event sponsored by Bedford Parks Department in conjunction with the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County.
Bedford Recreation Director Gary Dorsett says the popular event, slated for March 2 from 1-3 p.m., features two hours of bowling, pizza and soft drinks.
The cost is $20 per couple. Families with more than one son can participate for $25. Tickets go on sale Monday at the parks office.
This is the fourth time in five years the park department has held the event. Dorsett says, the boys like the chance to interact with their moms, and the moms feel the same way. There's a lot of laughter and teasing, and sometimes it gets real competitive.
Reservations also are being accepted for the annual Father/Daughter Dance, slated for Feb. 8, at the Limestone Building. Tickets are $20 per couple. Dads with more than one daughter are offered a discount.
Marla Jones, assistant director of the Lawrence County Economic Growth Council, is the guest speaker.
Dorsett says the event is like a prom for little girls.
Dorsett emphasized uncles and nieces and grandfathers and granddaughters are welcome as well.
