(MITCHELL) - Chicago’s Pizza is now open in Mitchell. The franchise opened under the direction of David Childers, whose father Dave also owns the franchises in French Lick and Tell City.
The restaurant opened in the former Dunbar's American Grill and Backyard Burgers location on Ind. 37.
Signage is installed, and the interior of the restaurant has been renovated to fit the Chicago's design.
Dave Childers opened the French Lick location in 1993. The family resides in Dubois County and has been serving its popular menu to diners since that first area location cropped up.
The restaurant serves a full menu that will include a lunch buffet of pizzas, breadsticks and salad from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
In addition, the eatery will offer a full line of pastas, sandwiches, speciality pizzas, appetizers and its salad bar is open and available throughout the day. It will offer both dine-in and carry-out service.
To prep for its opening, the restaurant underwent extensive remodeling with tile replacing carpet and a full kitchen conversion. The restaurant employs about 25 people and offers enough seating for 110 customers.
The restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Fridays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays and from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays. To order carry-out, call 849-2967.
