(BLOOMINGTON) - The City of Bloomington Fire Department is pleased to announce it has been awarded a $1,591.95 grant from the National Society of Professional Insurance Investigators (NSPII) Foundation.
"We're incredibly thankful for this award," said Tim Clapp, the City's officer in charge of fire inspection. "It will really help put a dent in our needs as a department, and help us enhance our local investigation efforts."
The Department received the money at the beginning of the year and is using it to purchase investigative materials, including three new cameras as well as computer software and equipment.
NSPII is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to "mitigate the societal and economic cost of insurance fraud" through educating and training agencies that investigate insurance claims. The NSPII Foundation uses funds collected from governments, corporations and private individuals to provide grants and scholarships to qualified agencies, including fire departments and other law enforcement bodies.
