(NASHVILLE) - Officials at Brown County High School say graffiti in one of the school’s restrooms put the school on “heightened alert” Friday.
The discovery of the graffiti prompted a search of the school by police. Police did not find anything to force a closure of the school, our partners at the Brown County Democrat report.
Friday morning, Principal Matt Stark activated a safety procedure and ran student through a metal detector.
Officials say they are not releasing the nature of the graffiti or whether it was found in a boys or girls restroom. Stark says limiting the amount of information released could help catch the person responsible.
Stark is offering a $50 reward for anyone with information that leads to the conviction of the suspect.
"There is a reward, and if I have to pay it myself, I will," Stark said.
Stark says the suspect could face felony charges and expulsion for disruption of school.
