(BEDFORD) - Karr Tuckpointing of Iowa is performing work on the Lawrence County Courthouse in an attempt to rehabilitate the historic structure in downtown Bedford.
Last summer, the Lawrence County Council approved the facelift to the tune of $95,000. The idea is to repair the mortar in the limestone structure and clean the stone in order to extend the life of the building and make it look better.
Right now, crews are working on the north side of the building. That entrance is closed to the public. County officials are unsure, at this time, how long it will take to complete the project.
