(LINTON) - Linton Police Officer Paul Clark responded to a report of a vehicle crashing into a porch around 3:24 a.m. Thursday.
Anna Rochelle of the Greene County Daily World reports that the accident occurred at a residence in the area of 1st St. NW and F St. NW at 3:20 a.m. but the driver left the scene in the vehicle.
After an investigation, officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle involved in the accident, a 1996 Ford Ranger pickup truck
The officers were able to locate and identify the suspected driver, Michael Kevin Boulanger, Jr., 39, of Linton.
Boulanger was transported to the Linton Police Department and given standard field sobriety tests which he reportedly failed. He was given a breath test and failed -- he registered .14 BAC.
According to the police report, when Boulanger was interviewed, he admitted involvement in the crash and to driving while intoxicated.
Boulanger was arrested, transported and booked into the Greene County Jail on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a class A misdemeanor, and leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage, also a class A misdemeanor.
He was being held on $5,000 bond with ten percent cash allowed.
LPD Reserve Officer Jason Wilson assisted in the investigation.
