(BEDFORD) - One person was hurt and another was cited after two cars collided at 30th Street and Mitchell Road Friday.
According to a Bedford Police Department report, 30-year-old Matthew A. Canada, of Mitchell, was driving a 1999 Ford ZX2 south on Mitchell Road at 4:05 p.m.
Police says, Canada's Ford was in the right lane. It was passing traffic that was stopped in the left lane behind a vehicle waiting to make a left-hand turn into a business parking lot.
Meanwhile, 21-year-old Levi S. Schulz, of Bedford, was driving north in a 1999 Ford Ranger pickup.
Schulz told police he saw the stopped traffic, but did not see Canada's Ford behind those vehicles. He turned his pickup left heading toward 30th Street, and into the path of Canada's car. The vehicles collided at the intersection.
Police say Canada attempted to stop his car but could not avoid the collision.
After the accident, police discovered Schulz's driver's license was suspended. He was cited for driving with a suspended license.
A passenger in Schulz's car, Ashley N. Schulz, 21, 922 Ridgedale Drive, suffered head pain after the wreck and was treated by an emergency crew.
